Anvik is a 12-minute looping sound art piece comprised of audio field recordings taken in rural interior Alaska, musical elements composed, performed, and recorded by Rachel, and recorded Skype interviews made with a friend in the tiny village of Anvik, Alaska. The piece explores concepts of language, loss, memory, landscape, and the supernatural.

Anvik can be exhibited (1) in a small, dark room featuring 5.1 surround-sound audio of the piece and seating options for listeners, (2) via radio broadcast or streaming online, (3) via iPod or CD/DVD player and stereo headphones. Anvik can optionally be displayed with an accompanying series of photographs from the town for which the piece is named.
